EPGAA Issue Alert

The Safe, Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act (SAFETEA) of 2005, Section 10301, requires the Secretary of Transportation to establish performance standards to reduce complete or partial ejections from outside seating positions. In doing so, the Secretary must consider various ejection mitigation systems, which could include the use of laminated glass. The final rule is due by October 1, 2009.
